can you worship God the way your heart desires?

man it's good. okay yeah so i'm posting it here

READ psalms 95:1-6, 99:5

I recall speaking to one teen from another curch who was adamant about dancing during worship services. she loved to dance, and argued that God would surely be more pleased with her wholehearted worship in her church rather than our 'boring' and 'unemotional' worship in our church!

In genesis 4:3-8, cain did not worship God the way God required, which was by means of animal sacrifice; instead he worshipeed God by means of wht was convenient to him. this gives us the principle that, unlike cain, we should not worship God 'the way we like'. in various passages in the bible, God has already given us various instructions to worship Him; how dare we try to argue that we know best what God wants!

Psalms 95:6 tels us "o cme, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the Lord our maker." Surely this means that we need to humble ourselves and do what God desires in worship, rather than do it our way! tose who argue that we should worship the way our heart desires, should hed the warning "the heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" Jeremiah 17:9

A word about emotion: bowing and kneeling down requires a spirit of humility and reverence. it is not that our worship services lack emotion; rather that the emotion that God desires is not necessarily the emotion that the world lvoes to show. Sadly it is true that some worshippers in our chrurches do not show any emotion whatsoever; praises are sung mechanically without joy (psalms 95:1-2), and neither is there any spirit of humility or reverence in general. the state of affairs has declined to te point that when it comes to corporate prayer, many decine to go on their knees! quite a few teens emulate such behaviour, for fear of being ostacized by fellow teens for being 'holy' if they kneel. te prepared heart yields humbly in the presence of God Almight in a attitude of deep reverence. But wach out that sometimes we can be kneeling but out heart is somewhere else. God forbid suc hypocrisy also.

"behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams" (1 sam 15:22b)

yeah and something we always forget to do is to obey the 10 commandments. after one of the videos by paul washer at yf camp last week, i learnt that if you're truly saved, you'd hate sin and wanna be righteous. like hate sinning and saying God's name in vain and stuff. people actually care, well sometimes, but cause their friends do the same and sin and use God's name in vain and stuff, they think it's okay and they do it as well. welll we live for God, and one day everything we do would be judged.

cool thing is, for those who believe Jesus died for us, all our bad records would be gone. we'll only be judged for our good stuff and get rewards for em. but for those unbelievers, all their bad records would be judged as well. yeah and just watch this paul washer video sermon. he's goooood.

and y'know something? whatever happens in this world doesn't matter.
just live for God
cause it's what Jesus did for you
so even if life stinks, it doesn't matter.
make sure it stinks for God, and be happy. You'll be rewarded
even though we totally don't deserve it man.
we're all supposed to go to hell, but by God's grace, some are saved.
cool eh
and Jesus knows exactly what you're feeling, and rememeber that
it's all for a good awesome reason

today hahahaha yes it's a saturday
i was spposed to go and send keene(pronounced keene and not keeny like how eld cheng pronounced HAHAHA) off with all the other people
butttt i changed my mind cause i don't really talk to him
when was the last time?
HEH i think last year
yup so things just went on as per normal.
i was supposed to bring hammie to church to show my advance class cubbies
of course, with meisi's permission.
but i didn't bring it cause i wanted to tell everyone first so they would wait for it impatiently muahahahaha
okay no la. i don't really know why i didn't wana bring it.

then during awana, hahaha i helped dn/uncle/? kenny with the sign language thing
AND I SCREWED IT! a little
cause i lost the paper 2 weeks ago (when he passed it to me) and heh
i didn't get to read it properly. i only read certain weird parts with xinen like jumping high.?
i told him before awana started la.
but i said i read through ittttt when he asked me if i had practiced heh. true. lil bit. 
mm then yeah went up to the sparks room and yeah did it section by section, pslams 139
and THEN, i just hadd to forget one part. dumb me.
so i quickly ran back to the bench to read the paper before going back to lead the sparks. hahaha man they're not very good at imitating.
eh and i think i should get rid of the orange nailpolish on my feet
they all kept staring at it hahahahaha

thennn after that, i went back down to help the cubbies with games.
and the 2 sisters(forgot their names heh)  finally played! yay
it's part of the game to scream/shout at the end but they couldn't
sooo they asked me to do it for them haha!
mm then yeah went for class.
i took over the whole advance class
sister priscilla had some national day thingie
HEH AND WE HAD GIRL TALK. CAUSE JOSHUA WASN'T THERE.
AND JOAN TOLD ME SHE HAS A BOYFRIEND! and she's only k2!
AND SHE SHARES HER BOYFRIEND WITH SOME OTHER GIRL HAHAHA
and now i'm their mom

hahahaha training on friday was so fun!
everyone was panicking and stuff cause ms chua had a 'plan' for our running
but she came late, and we ran 5rounds 1 line instead
then we did agility and shuttlethingie throwing and then throwing
then frisbee batting! SO FUN! then long hits & THAT WAS IT!
physical was not bad la.
HAHAHA FOR THE FRISBEE THING, BEL DID LOTSA WEIRD STUFF HAHAHA
'gimme gimme more' eh
then after training i went wit angie to gimmoh (or however you spell it)
to get popiah and bubble tea!
but now bubble tea is dangerous cause it makes me not get abs

saturday was reallyyyy fun.
first had awana in the afternoon,
and the little cubbies are totally awesome
but they call me old lady!
okay no only timothy and elias.
hahahaha steam themmmmmm.
and on saturday i finally went back to advance class to help sister priscilla
i miss rachel ranay (or however you spell it) joan and cassidy
eh, i don't miss the intermediate class.
they don't listen to me hahahahaha

yeah then after awana, i went up and almost did my work.
i brought my homework there but i didn't do it.
mhmm then i went down to get a drink, and i saw xinen and grace.
yeah then we went with elijah and some other guy to mcdonalds.
i thought they were gonna go home when they walked into some place of which i never knew exist
then we played pool hahahahaha.
ELIJAH'S POOL IS AWESOME.
then he taught me how to play
now i got almost half of his skills! hahahahaha i think.
GREEN TEA MCFLURRY IS TOTALLY AWESOME!

we have good taste. mm
then we went back to church and i that was when i realised i actually had group mtg
hahahaha and i missed it!
so i totally screwed up my part, the verse memo person hahahaha whoops.
i didn't even memorise the verse heh.

then on sunday for yt we played hangman
and i was in group 1, with ELIAS. can you imagine?!
stupid elias made us lose la.
stupid sec1 boy. who says i'm an old lady?!
he's scared of me heh heh heh heh heh heh.
i was with xinen, rachel nerissa aaron and dominic.
elias is not in my group.
okay la, but when we lose overall he would be our toilet cleaner.
we may have lost this round, but next round, yeah i think we're losing.
all thanks to elias la. but it was really funny

after that at 5 there was the mep concert in school
it wasn't bad
it inspires me to learn the harp violin flute chello guitar
went with kelly, and met timyoung and isabelle there hahaha
mm lydia has a really nice voice.

then today, youth day.
woke up at 8 for bel la.
actually i wanted to sleep more, but i realised i had to wake up,
if not bel would scold me hahahahaha.
then yeah showered ate then went to school to meet bel.
AND ANGIE WAS LATE!
yeah then when she was finalllyyy there, we got on 174 then yeah went to orchard.
we sat on the top in the bus and i sat beside this sleeping lady.
and she almost slept on me
IT WAS REALLY SCARY.
i felt like pushing her away hahahahaha
yeah then met megan at cine then we went to watch get smart.
it's really funny, but pretty random.
then we got hungry, so we decided to go to fish and co.
no, angie decided to go there hahahaha.
AND ALL OF A SUDDEN IT STARTING POURING.
so we ran in the rain just to get to fish and co.
we looked like freaks when we were inside heh
all the business ppl were all staring at us.
then i met daniel and his friends and they were like, "they ran in the rain just to get to fish and co"

oh yeah! on friday, during english lesson we did the classification thing la
yeah then went up to write all our info on the board,
but i had no space cuase everyone was blocking my group number 5
with a teacher's table infrnt of it, so i had to make a new column for myself.
heh i took up like the space of 3 groups hahahaha.
then i got back and becky and i sat together and then she wrote something really stupid.
with her left hand.
and ms yang caught us heh.
i wrote the next line, i wanted to write more but ms yang was there heh
